This was a large garden design & build & planting project in a large garden in Whittlesford on the outskirts of Cambridge.

The brief was to transform an elevated area providing a large covered seating and outdoor kitchen area, a smaller uncovered patio area. It was also agreed to clear the slopes of weeds, prepare the ground for planting and then designing a planting plan for the slopes using herbaceous perennials, Trees, shrubs and bulbs.

Once the design was agreed work started in August 2024 and as you can see from the images there was a lot of work to clear the area, provide utilities, build the structure, install an outdoor kitchen and install Infra red heating units to the ceiling, build a long pathway to the house and prepare the slope areas on either side for the planting. The area then had lighting installed from a design created by John Stevens of Lighting Sensations in Cambridge. The Trees were provided by Deepdale Trees in Sandy and the herbaceous perennials & shrubs by The Gedney Bulb Company in Gedney & Jasmine Nursery in Wisbech.

The outdoor kitchen was provided by Grillo in Haverhill and the timber from Jewsons in Royston. Bannolds in Fen Ditton provided all the aggregates and the paving.
