How the Process works

When I see someone’s garden for the first time, I don’t see the weeds, the overgrown plants, the abandoned trampoline in the corner, I see a blank canvas that can become an extra room to your home. Having your garden designed and then implemented can be an expensive business. Not only do you need a garden designer with vision and who listens you also need a person who is experienced in plants and planting, I have had to go and put right several gardens that were created by garden designers who just didn’t understand plants or where to plant them or materials used that weren’t suitable for that environment. Heartbreaking when so much money has been wasted and dreams dashed.

Of course, the plants are only going to survive if they are looked after properly, so, we give detailed instructions of what to do, particularly in regard to irrigation as this is the one thing customers just fail to do properly because their lives are too busy. The simplest way is to instal a drip hose irrigation system set up with a timer so that you can ensure your plants are watered once or twice a day, this means you can get on with your life without worrying about being too busy, forgetting or going away. With summers as they are now and look like they are going to continue to be, irrigation is something I almost insist on.

If you are a keen gardener then you will love the maintenance, other thing that needs to be done regularly but if you are not then we will again leave full instructions on how to look after your plants and if you are still unsure we can come and do maintenance for you on a regular basis.

When you make contact with us at About Thyme Gardening & Design we will arrange to come and meet you for a free, no obligation consultation where we can discuss your garden space and what you are hoping to achieve.

I will then go away and send you a Quotation for a full design: This includes a site visit where measurements will be taken and any landmarks, utilities, overhead cables, underground pipes and electrics etc., so that I can create an accurate site plan to work from.
